Do you dream about the perfect unforgettable vacation? Do you want it to be really amazing?

Everyone knows that travelling brings a sense of freedom, but do your vacations live up to their full potential? If you want to truly get to know a country, you should spend a good amount of time preparing for your trip. And in doing so, you should try to avoid the more “touristic” places and seek out destinations that are off the beaten path. Nobody can say that they truly experienced all that Thailand had to offer if they didn’t leave their resort and only visited expensive French restaurants. So make sure you prepare!

1. Spend ample time reading about local cultures and traditions as it is very important when you are in a completely unknown country. It may seem that the fact of being a tourist automatically frees you from local custom, but this mentality cannot be any more wrong. There are traditions that a play significant role for country’s inhabitants and locals can react if not respected.

So, before you go somewhere, make sure to get a sense of the way people live in your travel destination For example, many people in India do not eat beef and are very keen about it. You’re better off not ordering a beef steak when you’re a guest to an Indian family. The same thing goes for pork in the Muslim countries.

Also, the host country might have special, customs and celebrations, which would be great to experience.. If you want to become a part of country at least for several days, try to understand and respect all that it has to offer..

2. Do you want to be Friday from the Robinson Crusoe movie and explain yourself with hand gestures? Even In case you’ve forgot the tale, let me remind you that even this native learned the language.

If you go somewhere and the language of that country is totally incomprehensible to you, learn several expressions. Indeed, it will make your vacation a lot easier and more fun.

3. Expensive hotels right next to the main museums are fantastic, but what about truly immersing yourself in the country?

The ideal option is to rent a room in a local family; it will give you a chance to see how the average local family lives, which traditions are common in their everyday lives, and which are not. Moreover, you will learn a lot more about the country from its citizens, than from tour guides.

4. Travel by car or public transport, get lost, meet new people and be inquisitive!

When you are in your normal, everyday habitat, you do not pay attention to many things and simply get lost in a routine. Those little trifles are actually very important and play a big role in human’s being. While you travel, you have a chance to push yourself to be who you had always wished to be.

There are so many things in the world that you have a chance to see, and neither the internet nor your grandmother’s stories can replace them.
