Identity of those who died in a fire, which occurred at Sumgait plant of synthetic detergents on Monday, have been established.
One of them is Sabir Babayev, born in 1956. He was IDP from the Khojahan village of Gubadli region, temporarily settled in a hostel No.1 in Sumgayit. The second victim is Piri Piriyev, born in 1975, Association of Forensic Medical Examination and Morbid Anatomy of the Azerbaijani Health Ministry told Trend.
Azerbaijani Health Ministry announced the number of those who died and injured in the fire in Sumgayit plant of synthetic detergents on Monday.
The fire killed two people and injured ten others, Health Ministry told Trend.
All the injured are employees of the Fire Prevention Service of the Azerbaijani Emergency Situations Ministry.
The fire at the plant was extinguished, Azerbaijani Emergency Situations Ministry told Trend.
Three explosions took place in the territory of the plant on Monday.
The first explosion occurred in the woodworking shop, and the second - in two oil tanks located near the plant, law enforcement agencies told Trend.
Later the third explosion took place, Trend correspondent reported from the scene.
The plant affected by the explosion is not subordinate to the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), and is engaged in private activity, SOCAR spokesman Nizameddin Guliyev told Trend.

Earlier, law enforcement agencies announced the name of a person who died in the fire at the plant in Sumgayit. He was Elman Safarov. It is unknown yet whether the deceased was employee of the plant or a fireman.

The fire in “House Things” OSC in Sumgayit city is localized.
At the moment the fire conbtinues in one point. It that point the fire
weakens and strengthens with intervals, APA’s correspondent in Sumgayit
reports.
Fire extinguishers managed to prevent the fire to spread surroundings.
The Ministry of Emergency situations and Prosecutor General’s office released joint statement on explosion in Sumgayit city.
The statement reads that on September 17 at 05:00 pm. fire occurred in 6
fuel containers at “House Things” Open Stock Company and as a result of
explosion the fire spreaded surroundings. .
The Ministry of Emergency Situations and Sumgait prosecutor’s office
workers as well as equipments, machinery and helicopters of the Ministry
of Emergency Situations immediately arrived in the incident place and
took urgent measures prevent spreading of fire and to make first aid
injured people as a result of explosion.
Sumgayit city Prosecutor’s Office launched criminal case on the articles
#162.2 (labor protection violation) and 225.2 (fire safety violation)
As a result of incident 2 people died and one is missing. 3 people injured.

The first explosion occurred in the workshops on melting tar, which is adjacent to the factory, Trend correspondent reported.
Factory, where the explosion occurred, is not subordinated to SOCAR, and engaged in private activities, SOCAR spokesman Nizameddin Guliyev told Trend.
Despite the fact that two helicopters were sent to extinguish the fire, they initially were not allowed into the event area for technical and security reasons - because of the height of the fire. But then, according to the Emergencies Ministry, the helicopters started to extinguish the fire.
According to the preliminary data, one person died and seven were injured as a result of the explosion at detergent plant, Azerbaijani Health Ministry told Trend.
According to the information most of the wounded are rescue officers arriving at the scene. Ten ambulances were sent at the scene.
There is still no information about the number of dead and wounded inside the factory, the Ministry of Health said.
According to the preliminary version, the explosion occurred as a result of welding work in one of the tanks, Sumgayit City Prosecutor's Office said.
A fire occurred at the plant of synthetic detergents, Executive Power of Sumgayit told Trend. According to the information the company is private.
