A conference "The effectiveness of the protection of social rights in Georgia" will take place in Tbilisi on Thursday on the initiative of the Ombudsman, in cooperation with the Committee of Social Affairs of Council of Europe in connection with the 50th anniversary of the European Social Charter.
The conference will mull protection of the health, social welfare and social security. Separate sessions will focus on the review undertaken by European standards and to protect those rights in Georgia, steps and reforms. The conference will also discuss the mechanisms that form the European Social Charter, in order to ensure that the obligations undertaken by member countries of the Charter.
The conference will be attended by Vice-President of the European Committee on Social Affairs, representatives of the Secretariate of Social Charter, and international organizations accredited in Georgia, diplomatic corps and members of Parliament and representatives of other agencies. The Conference is financing by the project of CE "Georgian-Danish Programme 2010-2013, the promotion of judicial reform, human and minority rights in Georgia."
