Two people died at the Mindeli mine in the western Georgia at 22:00 last night. As the mine's "Gruzugol" Association board told Trend, two miners died as a result of ceiling collapse in the Tkibuli town (Imereti region).

According to official data, the mine's ceiling collapsed because of "movement of lode rock". The administration categorically denies the possibility of an explosion as a result of accumulation of methane gas.

"Gruzugol" Association takes all expenses for the funeral of the dead peoples. They also pay compensation to the bereaved families under the law.

It should be noted that this is not the first accident at the mine in Tkibuli. In spring, there was methane explosion, as a result of which 35-year-old miner Temur Gabriadze died.

On Jan.22, another explosion at a mine left one person dead and four injured.

Seven people were injured as a result of explosion at a mine in Tkibuli on Aug.27, 2010.

Earlier, on March 3, 2010, there was another explosion at the mine killing four miners and seriously injuring one.
