French President Nicolas Sarkozy's visit to the South Caucasus is a serious basis for developing both Georgia and the region, Georgian First Deputy Foreign Minister Nikoloz Vashakidze said at a press briefing on Monday.
He said that this visit was important and was held in a very warm and nice atmosphere.
"First and foremost, I want to stress the positive messages, voiced by the French President," he said. "This is the full support of Georgia's democratic and European choice and its territorial integrity. There was a direct call to Russia to make a constructive approach, to fulfill its obligations and to ensure peace in Georgia and the whole region for stable and democratic development."
