The Middle East countries should prevent the intervention of the West in the internal affairs of the region, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said in an interview with Lebanese television channel Al-Manar.
"The West is trying to regain its former control over the Muslim countries. It is our duty not to let this happen," Ahmadinejad said.
He noted that the Western countries are attempting to interfere in the affairs of Syria.
"The Syrian people and authorities need to agree on reforms and work together to ensure that West was unable to establish control over the country and region as a whole," he stated.
