Following the beginning of trips of the High Speed Train (YHT) between the provinces of Ankara and Eskisehir in 2009, the YHT will begin trips between central Anatolian provinces of Ankara and Konya on Tuesday.
In the next four years, YHT trips between Ankara and Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir as well as between Ankara and Sivas would go into service.
With the YHT, trips from Ankara to Istanbul will take 2.5 hours, Ankara to Izmir 3 hours and 50 minutes, Ankara to Sivas 2 hours and 39 minutes.
