Some 780 families or 1,897 people have moved from Armenia to Russia for permanent residence since start of the Russian state program "Assistance to compatriots" in 2007, Mediamax reported with reference to Armenian State Migration Service head Gagik Yeganian.
He said 29,500 Armenian citizens appealed to the Federal Migration Service of Russia (as of July 15, 2011), 15,824 of them - for the past 8 months.
"Of course, this is a negative phenomenon, which, as the Prime Minister said, will be the topic for discussion at the interstate level," Yeganian said.
