The World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) said on Thursday that Turkey's tourism revenues would reach 71 billion USD by the end of this year.

Using a system named satellite account, WTTC forecasts that Turkey will earn 22.9 billion USD from foreign tourists, 29.2 billion USD from direct contributions, and 19.4 billion USD from other means this year.

According to official figures, Turkey's tourism revenues are approximately around 23 billion USD.

WTTC earned a total of 28.5 billion USD from tourism in 2001, including 8.9 billion USD from foreign tourists, 9.7 billion USD from direct contributions, and 9.9 billion USD from other means.
