The government of North Ossetia  will hold a meeting on the situation in the Transcaucasian highway on Thursday, closed due to heavy avalanches in the mountains.

Several drivers of Kamaz are trapped on the road section between the villages of Nar and Zaramag. Officers of Emergency Situations Ministry are delivering them food on foot, Vesti reports.

Buses with Armenian passengers have also been stranded on the Georgian Military Road for the recent two days. There is a pregnant Armenian woman and infants among them.

The Russian-Georgian border remains closed due to weather conditions.
