Strong winds led to a power shortage in western Georgia. The majority of the population is still without electricity. Energo-Pro Georgia reported that over 100,000 subscribers in Imereti, Guria and Samegrelo remain without electricity.

The company's technical teams are working around the clock to restore the damaged network. Electricity was turned off in the Chugureti district and on Rustaveli Avenue in Tbilisi due to accidents at substations Vere-1 and Vere-2.

Over 40,000 subscribers, including the city hospital, trauma center, the TBC Bank head office and the Marjanishvili Theater were left without electricity.

The supply was restored immediately from alternative sources on Rustaveli Avenue, but it was possible only after repairs late at night in Chugureti.
