09 March 2011 [17:22] - Today.Az

Georgia has a fairly solid guarantee in terms of Russia's accession to the WTO, Georgian Parliamentary Speaker David Bakradze said. He commented on Georgian-Russian negotiations on the country's accession to the organization.

"These arguments are related to specific violations by Russia, which run counter to the WTO Charter and its spirit," Bakradze said.

He stressed that "while accepting any new WTO member, the correspondence of its policies and actions with the structure’s principles must be subject to review."

The Georgian PM is leading the negotiations with the Russian side. Adviser to Prime Minister Tamar Kovziridze is representing Tbilisi at the talks held in Berne on March 9-10.
