Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that a referendum might take place in 2011 in Turkey about the establishment of a presidential system.
Speaking on Turkey's NTV channel on Sunday, Erdogan said that "if the Turkish people extend support on a presidential system, then the issue may be brought up at the Turkish Parliament".
Regarding amendments to the Turkish Constitution, Erdogan said that the amendments might get approved within the parliament.
If the parliament fails to adopt the amendments, we will take the issue to a referendum in which the Turkish people would decide on the fate of the amendments, Erdogan said.
