Iran is not intentional to give West 1200 kilograms of enriched to 3.5 percent uranium, said in an interview professor of the University of Glasgow Reza Taghizadeh.
Head of Iran's nuclear organization said that his country is ready to give the 1,200 kilograms of uranium enriched to 3.5 % in return for uranium fuel enriched to 20 %. The exchange should take place inside Iran and simultaneously, said Ali Akbar Salehi. To this there are 3 reasons: - Iran has spent billions of dollars to produce 1,200 kilograms of uranium enriched to 3.5 %, whereas required 5 - 10 million dollars in order to obtain uranium fuel enriched to 20 % .
If Iran wanted to make a sharp turn in the nuclear policy, it would spread about it to international media, but not to "Javan".
In October 2009, the IAEA has taken the initiative to exchange existing Iran LEU (up to 3.5 %) Uranium enriched to 20% fuel for research reactor in Tehran, which produces medical isotopes. Later, the IAEA with the participation of Russia, France and the United States has developed and presented specific project agreements for the exchange. Initiatives included the Agency that Iran hand over to Russia 1.2 tons (70% of the total) of low-enriched uranium accumulated at the plant in the Iranian city of Natanz (about 250-300 kilometers south of Tehran). Russia had, on the draft, enriched the uranium to 20% and send to Tehran. But later Iran demanded that the exchange was carried out simultaneously and in the country.
Iran holds 1,200 kilograms of uranium enriched to 3.5 % as a lever of pressure on the West and does not want to lose this leverage, thinks Taghizadeh.
Division of the UN Security Council adopted 5 sanctions against Iran's nuclear program 3 of which are economical. US discuss the use of new UN Security Council sanctions against Iran. Iranian citizen in Britain said that China, too, will soon intervene in the UN sanctions, because the financial turnover between China and Iran $ 20 billion, and with the U.S. over 400 billion.
