Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri held meeting with European Union's new president, Herman Van Rompuy in Brussels on March 16.

The president of the EU reiterated support of the Union to Georgia`s territorial integrity and sovereignty and expects from Russia to fulfil the obligations stipulated in the ceasefire agreement signed during the August war.

The EU president said that the developments in Georgia were permanently in the focus of the Union even though they did not send observers to the self-government elections scheduled on May 30 in Georgia.

The PM and the EU president agreed that the relations between the EU and Georgia developed dynamically and that Georgia was the only country in South Caucasus, which enjoyed simplified visa regime with EU.
