03 March 2010 [13:09] - Today.Az
The high-level delegation of the European Union will visit the Upper Larsi-Kazbegi border exit-point, which was opened by Georgia and Russia two days ago.
The border was closed in 2005 by the Russian government for "reconstruction" works.
The delegation, which arrives from Baku to Tbilisi today, is chaired by EU President, Foreign Minister of Spain Miguel Angel Moratinos.
Within the visit, the EU delegation will hold meetings with Georgian president, Foreign Minister, State Minister for Reintegration and the parliament speaker. The meeting with the leaders of some political parties is also on the agenda.
On Tuesday, Spanish Foreign Minister Miguel Angel Moratinos has started his visit to the South Caucasus.
Georgian authorities say one of the topical issues discussed at the meeting with the EU high-level delegation will be Georgia's state strategy document about the occupied territories, the enlargement of the observatory mission, intensification of Georgia-EU relations, including lifting visa regime.
