He was persuaded by Ilia II, Catholicos Patriarch of Georgia.
Gamsakhurdia was detained by police on Oct. 27, 2009, over charge of intentionally shooting at his neighbour David Bajelidze.
He denies the charge and demands release, as the wounded neighbour said Tsotne had not shot at him.
Gamsakhurdia was on hunger strike from Dec. 25, 2009.
In late January he was acquainted with materials on his cases - charges of attempted murder, espionage for Russia, participation in anti-governmental plot.
On Feb.1, he was charged of inflicting light damage [incident of 1998].
