IRI foreign minister said here Monday US should explain agenda of the aborted meeting with international terrorist Abdolmalek Rigi.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast in an interview with IRNA Political Desk reporter, referred to Manouchehr Mottaki’s address at the day-long Geneva UN Human Rights Conference, arguing, “The Islamic Republic of Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs in his address also elaborated on Iran’s stands regarding the human rights and the west’s double standards applied about the matter.”
Mehmanparast who is accompanying Mottaki in the visit added, “Our country’s foreign minister in his address also elaborated on Iran’s viewpoints and stands regarding the major regional and international developments.”
He said that Mottaki’s comments about Rigi had impressed everyone at the conference hall, reiterating, “Mr. Mottaki asked in his address whether the United States had been unaware of the fact that Rigi’s highly criminal grouplet has thus far claimed the lived of over 400 human beings?”
According to him, the foreign minister added, “The Americans must also reply to the question, “What was the reason why Rigi attended that country’s military camp in Afghanistan and which plan was he going to discuss with the US top military official in Manas military camp at Kyrgyzstan’s capital city, Bishkek?”
Further elaborating Foreign Minister Mottaki’s remarks at the Human Rights Council meeting the foreign ministry spokesman said, “Mr. Mottaki reiterated, “Is the meaning of campaign against terrorism supporting and promoting the paid criminals?”
Referring to the conduct of the Zionist regime, Mottaki said that that regime has resorted to systematic assassinations in addition to the massacre of the civilian people.
The IRI foreign minister added at the conference, “How can the Europeans, particularly the British, the Germans, the French, the Irish, and the Austrians justify delivering their country’s official diplomatic passports to Mossad officials using which they managed to assassinate the Hamas leader, Mr. al-Mabouh, in Dubai?” Mottaki said, “Why have they remained silent towards the conduct of the Zionist regime and why don’t they condemn the inhumane crimes of that illegitimate regime in accordance with the contents of the Goldstone Report?”
Mottaki added, “Why did they exclude the name of the terrorist grouplet MKO that has martyred over 16.000 Iranians in its operations? Do those countries have any replies for the public opinion? Is that the meaning of the human rights?
The foreign ministry spokesman continuing his elaboration about the Human Rights Council meeting said, “Mr. Mottaki meanwhile at the press conference, held in the presence of over 50 reporters on the sidelines of the main conference elaborated on Iran’s stands regarding the human rights issue, our country’s peaceful nuclear program, Tehran’s readiness for exchange of fuel in case the ideal conditions for the exchange would be met, terrorist movements in the region, particularly Abdolmalek Rigi grouplet’s activities and the assassination of al-Mabouh in Dubai.
Mehmanparast said that Manouchehr Mottaki’s press conference was one of the most populated on the sidelines of the conference.
