This afternoon, a basement of the Iranian Central Bank exploded as a result of gas leakage, deputy police commander for operations in Tehran Mohsun Hancharli said.

According to him, Fire Brigades arrived and saved a man, suffocated with gas. Afterwards, it saved eleven victims, who were immediately taken to the hospital. At the end of rescue operations explosion took place in the basement.

According to Hancharli, no one was injured. The blast blew out windows of nearby houses. The fire caused no significant damage to the building of the bank.

Reasons of the accident are under investigation.

According to Hancharli, the state of three bank employees taken to the hospital is heavy, the others feel well.
