Iran’s minister of Education and Turkey’s minister of Culture and Tourism in a meeting here on Tuesday called for promotion of cultural cooperation, especially in the field of education.

Hamid Reza Babaei, who is visiting Turkey upon an invitation extended by Turkey’s Minister of National Education Nimet Cubukcu, met with Turkey’s Minister of Culture and Tourism Ertugrul Gunay.

Gunay welcomed Iranian minister and called his last week visit to Iran very useful and constructive and said that he is closely familiar with Iranian culture and civilization and follows Iran’s development in this concern.

He described cooperation process between the two countries very good and said that his ministry, as a part of Turkey’s government, is trying to develop and deepen ties with Iran and open a new door for cultural cooperation.

Babaei, by praising Turkey’s officials hospitality, said that his talks with Mrs. Cubukcu was positive and expressed hope that the protocol in the field of education which was signed today can open new cultural and educational ties between Iran and Turkey.

Haji Babaei also met with President of the Turkish Council of Higher Education Yusuf Ziya Ozcan here on Tuesday.

He is scheduled to meet with Turkish Parliament Speaker Mehmet Ali Sahin and Head of Dianat Organization Ali Bardakoglu on Wednesday.

Haji Babaei is also to visit a number of Turkish educational complexes as well as Iranian school in Istanbul during his 3-day trip.
