Iran has already started producing 120 - millimeter and 130-millimeter cannon and tank shells.
130-millimeter cannon shells are used most commonly in the armed forces, Iranian Defense Minister Ahmad Vahidi was quoted as saying by the Irna news agency. Iran has already started producing these missiles in the country, he said the at the opening ceremony of the cannon shells producing plant.
Dry fuel is used for 130-millimeter cannon rounds and mainly in the field guns. "Along with the launch of domestic production of these shells, the range of these missiles hit a target increased by 30 compared to conventional missiles," he added.
120-millimeter projectiles (HESH) are provided for the tanks and can hit an armored target. "Power of the 120-mm tank shell is so high that even if it bursts near the armored vehicles, it can damage it and cause dizziness in the crew," he said.
The technology of production of these two types of shells available only to the U.S. and UK, he added.
