03 February 2010 [10:07] - Today.Az
Georgian president has slammed those opposition leaders, who have visited Russia for several times recently, asserting they were attempting to restore relations with the northern neighbour.
During his visit to Borjomi, Mikheil Saakashvili called these leaders "lame duck politicians" and added that the future of Georgia can be decided only by the people of Georgia.
"On whose behalf are they travelling to Russia, what are their positions to take this mission [of improving relations with Russia]. With their trips, they recognize that the fate of Georgia must be decided in the Kremlin. This generation will no longer take this. Georgia's internal affairs will no longer be arranged by adversaries, but the people of Georgia will solve its problems," Saakashvili said and added that Georgia will no longer bend down on its knees before anyone.
"This battle is not over. Every single day of peace is our next step in this battle towards the victory and we will win this battle by all means," the President said.
