The index is prepared by U.S. Yale and Columbia universities, and announced within the scope of Davos meetings.

Turkey ranked the 77th in 2010 global environmental performance index.

The index is prepared by U.S. Yale and Columbia universities, and announced within the scope of Davos meetings.

Among 163 countries, Turkey is on the 77th place in the index which reflects the performance of countries in the aspects of control of environmental pollution and management of natural resources.

Iceland is on the top of the list, while Sierra Leone became the 163rd.

The 2010 global environmental performance index ranks 163 countries on 25 performance indicators tracked across ten policy categories covering both environmental public health and ecosystem vitality. These indicators provide a gauge at a national government scale of how close countries are to established environmental policy goals.
