Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs Edward Nalbandian welcomed newly appointed UNDP Resident Representative Dafina Gercheva on the occasion of submitting her credentials.
Nalbandian highly praised the work of Armenia’s UN offices and pledged Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ support for UN development programs set to be carried out between 2010–2015.
Gercheva, in turn, assured the Armenian minister that she will provide assistance toward the implementation of UN programs and increase UN contribution in Armenia during her term, highlighting that the positive experience of cooperation between the Armenian authorities and the activities of the UN’s Yerevan offices can also be applied in other countries.
