Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian announced today that there were numerous exchange visits, political consultations, meetings and events in 2009, and around 100 international treaties were signed, which “can provide solid grounds to future strengthen bilateral and multilateral relations.”

According to Nalbandian, last year, Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan visited 22 countries, while 8 leaders of other countries visited Armenia.

National Assembly Chair Hovik Abrahamyan visited 8 countries, while two of his counterparts in other countries came to Armenia.

Moreover, Armenia’s prime minister visited 8 countries last year, while Nalbandian himself went to 29 countries (as compared 11 of his counterparts from other countries who came to Yerevan).

Also in 2009, five leaders of international organizations paid a visit to Yerevan.
