Georgia will officially leave CIS Parliamentary Assembly today.
Parliament of Georgia took decision to withdraw from Commonwealth of Independent States on 14 August, 2008.
Foreign Minister of Georgia sent a note to the CIS executive committee on 18 August, 2008 notifying it of the resolution of Parliament of Georgia and Georgia’s withdrawal form CIS.
Formal procedure of Georgia leaving CIS ended on 18 August, 2009.
Decision to leave CIS was taken by Georgia due to Russian-Georgian war.
