On Jan. 21, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan signed a decree to remove Armen Smbatian from post of Armenian ambassador to Russia, Armenian Presidential Press service said.

Smbatian is also Executive Director of CIS Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation.

Under another presidential decree, Oleg Yesayan was designated for the post of Armenian Ambassador to Russia.

Prior to the appointment, Yesayan was holding a position of Armenian ambassador to Belarus.
