Turkey and Saudi Arabia have agreed to launch preliminary works for cooperation in health sector, Turkey's health minister said on Tuesday.

Turkey and Saudi Arabia have agreed to launch preliminary works for cooperation in health sector, Turkey's health minister said on Tuesday.

Turkish Health Minister Recep Akdag and his Saudi counterpart Abdallah Al Rubaya met in Ankara to discuss cooperation between the two countries.

After their meeting, Akdag told reporters that such a cooperation would also be important for the entire Middle East.

Health officials of the countries will soon begin preliminary works on a possible cooperation to launch final works, Akdag said.

Al Rabaya, on his part, expressed his appreciation for such a meeting with Akdag and cooperation with Turkey, adding that cooperation areas would focus on liaison between experts of the two countries, as well as production of medical equipments and pharmaceuticals.
