A foreigner was arrested at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport while attempting to import 1 kg of cocaine in his stomach.

A foreigner was arrested at Istanbul's Ataturk Airport while attempting to import 1 kg of cocaine in his stomach, Anadolu news agency reported on Monday.

The abdominal x-ray identified 83 capsules in stomach of the suspected man who was identified as a Bolivian student named Ribera K. who arrived in Istanbul via Brazil.

The 24-year-old will stand trial in an Istanbul court following legal procedures for his alleged involvement in illicit drug trafficking.
