Erdogan said that Turkey would celebrate it as a festival if Palestinian people resolved their disagreements.
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that Turkey would celebrate it as a festival if Palestinian people resolved their disagreements.
Prime Minister Erdogan met with President Mahmoud Abbas of Palestine, who is currently paying an official visit to Ankara.
"We consider the Palestinian issue our cause. We explained the issue at international platforms many times. In order to come to a serious and successful conclusion about the Palestinian issue, Palestinians should resolve their own problems. Turkey will celebrate it as a festival if Palestinian people resolve their disagreements," he said.
Prime Minister Erdogan said that the Palestinian issue was of great importance for peace in the world and it concerned the whole humanity.
President Abbas, in his part, thanked Prime Minister Erdogan for bringing the Palestinian issue on international agenda.
He said that he informed Prime Minister Erdogan on recent developments after Israel's recent decision to build new settlement units in Jerusalem.
President Abbas said that their requests were not pre-conditions, but parts of the road map which was approved by the two parties earlier.
