Vice Speaker of the Georgian Parliament George Tsereteli believes that the CIS Parliamentary Assembly is a symbolic load.

He told journalists that the organization "has never given something and never give."

The concrete date of Georgia's withdrawal from the Commonwealth of Independent States was announced.

The Parliament of Georgia will not be a member of the CIS Parliamentary Assembly from Jan. 22, 2010.

The Georgian side presented the statement on withdrawal to CIS PA on July 22, 2009.

Upon the procedure, membership to the organization is terminated within six months after statement.

According to George Tsereteli, there are contracts concluded within the CIS, to which Georgia is a member, but it is not the Parliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth, which has a symbolic load.
