The so called Defence Minister Yuri Tanaev stated in his presentation of 2009 report in parliament, that the so called South Ossetian armed forces are ready to protect territorial integrity and sovereignty of the ‘Republic’, web site of Tskhinvali’s printing and mass communication ministry reports.

Tanaev says that 4 military bases of the so called South Ossetia are ready to protect security and sovereignty of the ‘republic’. He says that all the military events scheduled for 2009 were successful.

Tanaev informs that some citizens of Georgia were detained for violation of the so called State border in 2009.

‘Despite numerous attempt of Georgia to seize territory of South Ossetia, for instance incident in village Perevi, Java Region, they didn’t succeed. Perevi population now can continue peaceful life,’ Tanaev stated.

He says that military-scientific conference was held to realize lessons of August 2008, where ‘retry of the aggression and ways to repel’ were discussed.

‘Military discipline has increased in the army in 2009. We spend more in healthcare of the servicemen. 80 soldiers, injured in the august events of the last year, are still in the military hospital of Russian Federation. We also plan to send the soldiers who have been in war to the resort treatment for full rehabilitation of the army after 2008 august days,’ Tanaev stated.
