British Finance Minister Rachel Reeves intends to additionally allocate almost 3 billion pounds ($3.7 billion) to the national armed forces, Azernews reports.

According to her, the payment, which will be a one-time payment, will be announced during the budget address of the Labor government. Reeves is scheduled to speak with him in the House of Commons (the lower house of Parliament) on October 30, presenting the budget for 2025.

The article says that 400 million pounds from an additional funding package of 2.9 billion pounds should go to a 6% increase in military salaries. The funds will also be used to restore the stocks of weapons to replace what was transferred to Ukraine.

At the same time, The Daily Telegraph notes that Reeves will not make any statement about a long-term increase in defense spending. According to the publication, they will remain at the current level - about 2.3% of GDP.
