Ukraine has severed diplomatic relations with Russia, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said, Trend reports referring to Ukrainian media outlets.

"We broke off diplomatic relations with Russia. Ukraine is defending itself and will not give up its freedom, no matter what they think in Moscow," Zelensky said.
