The forest fire, which broke out in the Turkish province of Mugla on Sept. 6, continues, the country’s media reported on September 7.

According to the report, despite all attempts, firefighters failed to put out the fire.

It is reported that evacuation of the population, which started Sept. 6, is still going on in a number of villages.

Earlier, a wildfire also broke out in Turkey’s Balikesir province.

Forests cover 27.6 percent of Turkey’s territory. Almost all of them are owned by the state.
