Inflation rate in Kazakhstan hit 8.5 percent in January-December 2016, Statistics Committee of the Ministry of National Economy of Kazakhstan reported.

Food prices have increased by 9.7 percent, non-food items’ prices have gone up by 9.5 percent, and paid services’ prices have increased by 6.1 percent since early 2016.

In Dec. 2016, the inflation rate was 0.9 percent. Food prices have increased by 1.7 percent, non-food items’ prices have gone up by 0.8 percent, and paid services’ prices have increased by 0.2 percent in December 2016 compared to November 2016.
