The Russian parliament on Wednesday warned the US legislature not to approve a military strike against Syria, dpa reported.
An attack might "risk nuclear and chemical contamination," civilian deaths and a humanitarian disaster, lawmakers said in a resolution passed by 449 of 450 deputies.
The resolution also praises a Russian initiative to bring Syria's chemical weapons under international control, as a first step towards a peaceful solution.
