First Deputy Minister of Defense of Georgia Levan Dolidze and Deputy Chief of the Joint Staff of Armed Forces, Colonel Vladimir Chachibaia left for a working visit to the U.S.
The purpose of visit is the discussion of bilateral military cooperation, Georgian Defense Ministry told Trend on Monday.
The Georgian delegation will hold meetings at the Department of Defense and the Defense Committee of the U.S. Senate, as well as participate in a roundtable discussion at the Atlantic Council. A meeting with Deputy Assistant of the Defense Secretary of the United States Eric Rubin in the U.S. State Department is scheduled.
Levan Dolidze and Vladimir Chachibaia are also going to meet with former Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld, executive director of the International McCain Institute of Leadership, Ambassador Kurt Vulkars and visit the German Marshall Fund in the United States.
The working visit ends on April 18.
