During his working visit to Poland, President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili attended an international conference dedicated to Grigol Peradze, the presidential administration told Trend on Friday.

Saakashvili told the conference delegates about Georgia's aspirations for Europe and recognition of common European values. One of the central topics of his speech was the reforms in Georgia and the successes achieved by the country. President Saakashvili stressed that progress and development of the democratic process should be continued.

"Georgia will not return under the influence of Russia since the people have already tasted success, democracy and democratic process of change of power and this is what is called a European start. The people will not give up this development. Our policy is development, peace and opportunities for each resident of the region," Saakashvili said.

Saakashvili also answered questions from the audience which included American, French and German scientists, professors of Warsaw University and members of the Polish Senate.

Earlier, Polish Senate Marshal Bogdan Borusewicz addressed the conference and spoke in detail about Georgia's democratic development and stressed that the progress should be continued.
