Despite the fact that today Turkish-Israeli relations are frozen, Ankara should hold talks with Tel Aviv to halt military operations in the Gaza Strip, Anadolu agency quotes Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc as saying.
"Turkey and Israel should negotiate to halt air strikes on the Gaza Strip to prevent the death of innocent civilians," Arinc said.
He also stressed that Turkey will do its best so that Israeli aggression against Gaza stopped.
The Israeli Air Force carried out attacks today, the second day of operations in the Gaza Strip, aimed at about a 100 targets and killing three members of the HAMAS movement's military wing, bringing the total number of killed Palestinians to at least 11.
Operation Pillar of Cloud has been a large scale operation carried out over the past four years. Tanks and naval ships are involved in the shelling of Gaza in addition to planes. Representatives of the Israeli political leadership and military command do not rule out a land invasion.
Last time Israel brought ground troops into the enclave was in the winter of 2008-2009. Then the victims of the operation amounted to about 1400 Palestinians.
