Candidate for prime minister of Georgia Bidzina Ivanishvili cannot give specific dates for any increase in refugee benefit. He stated this at a meeting with the parliamentary minority.

According to Ivanishvili, the Georgian Dream coalition hasn't specified dates on this issue as opposed to programmes on agriculture and health.

"Any normal state including ourselves should increase refugee benefits to a living wage. We must watch over our refugees who have suffered many difficulties in recent years. It is clear that the benefit should not be less than the subsistence minimum. We haven't specified the time and it is difficult to offer precise timing at this moment, "Ivanishvili said.

He added Georgia's economy and society should develop harmoniously.

"We intend to consider the issue of refugees as a priority in order to provide them with housing as soon as possible," the candidate for prime minister stated.

He also expressed hope that the vast majority of the Georgian population of Georgia will be employed in three to four years.

"I will refrain from naming specific timeframes. Maybe if we can convince investors that there is political stability in the country, investments will come. Hopefully a break will take place in three to four years and the majority of the population will be employed," Ivanishvili added.

Earlier the leader of the Georgian Dream coalition which won the recent parliamentary elections, Bidzina Ivanishvili proposed candidates for ministers in the new Georgian government.

Ivanishvili intends to become prime minister.
