A senior Iranian parliamentarian dismissed the western sanctions against Tehran as ineffective, and reiterated that Iran will continue the path of progress despite all embargos and conspiracies, Fars reported.
Denouncing West's sanctions imposed on the country in the past decade, Rapporteur of the parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Hossein Naqavi Hosseini said each of those sanctions was enough to bring any nation down to its knees.
"However, the Iranians continue their path (to progress) despite all those conspiracies," the MP stressed.
Naqavi Hosseini told IRNA on Thursday that the Iranian nation would never yield to illegitimate demands of the world arrogance.
He added that enemies are determined to stop Iranians from moving towards progress, particularly in terms of their economic activities.
Naqavi Hosseini reiterated that the Iranian nation would never abandon their peaceful nuclear activities and yield to illegitimate demands.
Despite the rules enshrined in the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) entitling every member state, including Iran, to the right of uranium enrichment, Tehran is now under four rounds of UN Security Council sanctions for turning down West's calls to give up its right of uranium enrichment.
