Practical issues will be discussed during the visit of U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to Georgia, chairman of the Georgian Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Affairs Akaki Minashvili believes.

In addition to issues of security and restoration of territorial integrity, such issues as the current political processes in the country and economic reforms, including the Georgian-US economic ties will be discussed at meetings with Clinton, Minashvili told reporters.
Regional visit of Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to South Caucasus began on June 4 in Yerevan. Clinton will travel to Georgia on June 5, and will arrive in Azerbaijan on June 6.

"One of the segments of these economic relations is free trade, which became the subject of discussion at the meeting between Presidents Barack Obama and Mikheil Saakashvili. Transition to free trade does not happen quickly. It is well known that there is no precedent when the U.S. would establish a free trade regime with what-either country in the region," he said.

Minashvili said Clinton will have clear messages about the security and de-occupation of Georgian territories.

"We are talking all the time on the implementation of the agreement dated August 12, 2008, the deployment of international neutral force in Abkhazia and Tskhinvali province. In diplomacy it is very important that a question has always been relevant," the MP noted.

Military actions were launched in the Georgian territory, South Ossetia on Aug.8 in 2008. Later the Russian troops occupied the Tskhinvali city and drove the Georgian military back. Russia recognized the independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia in late August. In response, Tbilisi broke off diplomatic relations with Moscow and announced two unrecognized republics as the occupied territories.
