The Georgian Foreign Ministry appreciates a preliminary text of the resolution adopted at the Chicago Summit.

Deputy Foreign Minister Nikoloz Vashakidze said at the traditional Monday briefing that it reflects the favorable reality, which is related to the promotion of Georgia's integration into NATO.

"Of course, Georgia's major contribution to the work of the alliance, including peacekeeping missions is extremely important," he said. "I think it will all be adequately reflected in the declaration."

Vashakidze said that three important meetings will be held within the meeting. Georgia will participate in all three meetings in particular with key partners, candidate countries and the countries participating in ISAF.

A declaration was adopted on the first day of the NATO summit. Three points are completely devoted to Georgia. According to the document, NATO remains committed to the decision of the alliance summit in Bucharest. According to it, Georgia will become a NATO member.

According to the declaration, the alliance welcomes Georgia's progress after the Bucharest summit.

The alliance members agreed to expand ties with Georgia. According to the document, NATO expresses its support for Georgia's territorial integrity and calls on Russia to refuse from recognizing the independence of Georgian regions - Abkhazia and South Ossetia.

The declaration also includes the alliance members' appreciation to Georgia for the contribution to the NATO operation.
