Three people including a woman were injured as a result of a strong explosion in the city of Shushter in the Iranian Khuzestan Province on Tuesday, FARS agency reported.
The cause of the explosion has not been established, but it is assumed that gas explosion took place in an apartment house. Residents of 14 nearby homes were evacuated because of a threat of collapse, Shushter fire department head Mehdi Eyyubi said.
Ten nearby houses were damaged as a result of the explosion while four buildings are completely destroyed. Fire fighters and rescuers were sent to the affected area. The cause of the incident is being investigated.
