Iran has started manufacturing the cure for the malignant liver tumor for the first time, Kayhan Newspaper reported.

Malignant liver tumors occur less frequently and typically require more aggressive treatment, such as chemotherapy, radiation, or surgery. The two most common types of liver malignancies are called hepatoblastoma and hepatocellular carcinoma.

Iran's Rajaie Cardiovascular Research Center jointly with Institute for Nuclear studies have successfully used new technology in treating malignant liver tumor in animals, and its planned to begin testing the new cure on people come next year.

According to the newspaper, the new technology of treatment requires the use of new radiopharmaceuticals, which are poured through arteries right into the core of the tumor, through angiography.

Using this technology would require a patient visit a doctor only once, as this treatment does not require numerous visits.
