Iran’s Interior Minister says Tehran will expand its international and regional cooperation against narcotics, terrorism, thugs and organized crime in the new Iranian calendar year (started March 20, 2012).

To boost its anti-narcotics campaign in the coming year, Iran plans to establish closer ties with countries like Afghanistan and Pakistan, Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar said on Monday.

“We are also seeking [to establish] security agreements with Russia as well as Central Asian and Middle Eastern states for a more effective campaign against narcotics, terrorism, thuggery and organized crime,” he added.
