President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva
yesterday familiarized themselves with the rebuilding and landscaping
work in the Nasimi Seaside Park of Culture and Leisure in Sumgait.
The Head of State and Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva were informed about the
reconstruction work in the park with total area of 23 hectares. Monument
of the prominent Azerbaijani poet Nasimi has been erected here in 2001.
President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse viewed stands reflecting future
look of the park. The Head of State gave relevant instructions.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today attended a groundbreaking ceremony of the carbamide production plant in Sumgait. The Head of State viewed the photo stands reflecting scheme, technical parameters and future look of the plant.
President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Rovnag Abdullayev
informed the President on the construction of the plant with total area
of 24 hectares to complete in 2014. The daily capacity of the facility will make up 1200 tones of ammoniac and 2000 tones of carbamide. The facility will employ 500 people. The Head of State gave relevant instructions and recommendations.

Azerbaijani President Ilham
Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva have today opened the Sumgait Olympic
Sports Complex. The Head of State cut a ribbon symbolizing the opening of the
facility.
Minister of Youth and
Sports Azad Rahimov informed the President and Mrs. Aliyeva about the
Complex. As stated, the construction
with total area of 13,477
square meters started in 2007. The Head of State and his
spouse viewed a 3-storey building of the complex. The facility has gym, cinema hall, 800-seat universal sports hall, swimming
pool and canteen. President Ilham Aliyev and Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva also viewed the 3-storey hotel
in the Complex. The President and his spouse were presented a catalogue
reflecting national sports costumes of Azerbaijan`s Olympic athletes.
President Ilham Aliyev also familiarized himself with the football pitch. Then,
the Azerbaijani leader met with local residents and sportsmen. President Ilham
Aliyev presented honorary diplomas, certificates and orders of apartments to a
group of sportsmen who made contributions to Olympic movement in the country
and achieved successes in various sports competitions. On behalf of Sumgait residents and sportsmen, senior coach of Azerbaijan
freestyle wrestling team Firdovsi Umudov thanked the Head of State.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today visited Sumgait. The Head of State and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva kicked off Sumgait trip by visiting the monument erected to national leader Heydar Aliyev in the city center. They laid flowers at the monument. President Ilham Aliyev and Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva were informed on progress achieved in the city in the field of socio-economic development.
