Azerbaijan`s ambassador in Islamabad expressed his country`s readiness to assist Pakistan in tackling an energy crisis. Dashgin Shikarov met Governor of Punjab Sardar Latif Khan Khosa.
The Azerbaijani diplomat stressed Baku was interested in expanding energy cooperation with Pakistan.

The Governor of Punjab said Pakistan was among the first countries to recognize the independence of Azerbaijan. "Pakistan appreciates fraternal relations with Azerbaijan, based on historical, cultural and religious roots.” Latif Khan Khosa thanked the Azerbaijani government for assistance to victims of a severe flooding in several regions of Pakistan.

He also stressed the necessity of deepening the bilateral economic and trade cooperation. “The current volume of trade between Azerbaijan and Pakistan falls well behind of our potential,” the Punjab Governor added.
