President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory message to Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund Christine Lagarde.
“I would like to extend my cordial congratulations on your being appointed as Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund,” the President said in his message.
“We attach a special significance to cooperation with the International Monetary Fund. In this sense, I would like to stress the contribution of the International Monetary Fund in the economic development programs implemented in Azerbaijan.”
“Today, the International Monetary Fund is also facing such important tasks as conducting reforms aimed at improving methods of management of financial and economic and monetary system, ensuring stability of financial and banking sector, preventing the threat of transformation of sharp debt problems into a new global financial crisis. I hope that during your presidency, the International Monetary Fund, while tackling these responsible tasks, will attach an additional impulse to strengthening international financial cooperation.”
“I congratulate you once again, wish you a sound health, happiness and success in the upcoming responsible work,” said President Aliyev.
